That’s right – Aruba is named a leader in wireless! Our wireless solutions are not only high-performing, but also provide visibility into people and assets, enhanced location services, and IoT connectivity. We believe that unique and powerful combination was key to Aruba being named the Leader in the Forrester New Wave™: Wireless Solutions, Q3 2019 report. What Forrester Says About Aruba According to the report, “customers praised Aruba Networks’ rich management interfaces, monitoring tools, and location services, especially the ability to connect IoT devices using wireless options outside of just using Wi-Fi with Aruba’s access points (APs).” Aruba received the highest possible score on these criteria and more: • Wireless connectivity options • Wireless hardware options • Security

"Smart machines are everywhere – in our homes, our driveways, even our power grids and assembly lines. Over the last three years, the number of connected devices has almost doubled, from 15 billion in 2015 to more than 25 billion today. By 2025, that number is expected to eclipse 75 billion. At the same time, wireless data traffic has seen explosive growth. In the United States, mobile data usage increased 54% over the last decade (Mobility Report. Ericsson, 2018). The rise of IoT-connected devices and increasing customer expectations around mobile broadband performance is putting tremendous pressure on existing infrastructure. In response, telecom companies are making massive capex investments in small cell networks."

With large sprawling networks, and a variety of communication protocols being deployed at retail stores (wireless LANs, GPRS, Bluetooth, NFC, RFID and cellular technologies among them), the entry points for attacks have multiplied substantially. Add to that list various connected applications, more digital touchpoints, smart appliances and infrastructure, in-store associates’ devices, and customers’ mobile phones and we begin to see the magnitude of not just the risk, but the complexity involved in safely yet efficiently managing the network environment.

Miercom was engaged by Cisco Systems to independently configure, operate and assess aspects of campus-scale, wireless and wired network infrastructures from Cisco and Huawei Technolgies. Our evaluation found that, where Cisco and Huawei both offer all the comparable components for building a campus-wide, wireless and wired, network infrastructure, test after test found that the Cisco package offers certain positive advantages that Huawei does not. Cisco showcased superior performance against the Hauwei wireless solution with a highly developed resource management, hardware, software and security platform to provide the most optimized, trustworthy system to ever customer. Enterprise IT is changing. It’s evolving from a rigid, static, manually configured and managed architecture to one where connectivity is dynamic, application services are on demand, and processes are automated. Enterprise networking is evolving along with IT. This has been evident in the past several years in initiatives such as enterprise digitization and as-a-service consumption models, as well as their enablers, including BYOD, IoT and cloud. Add to this, all of the security implications of each initiative. The purpose of this paper is to assess the switching requirements for next-generation campus networks incorporating wired switches, wireless LANs and WAN routers in an intuitive, intent-based network supporting cloud, mobility, IoT and digitization, with pervasive security.

The Time for the Hybrid WAN IT has gone through a significant evolution over the past decade. Virtualization has changed the entire face of the data center, the network edge has become predominantly wireless and consumer devices reign supreme. However, one of the few areas of IT that has yet to evolve is the corporate wide area network (WAN). Managing the WAN is something network managers have always struggled with because WAN speeds are typically an order of magnitude, or more, slower than local area networks (LANs).
